A Lost Love
A Slowly Depleting Mind.
And a Gradually Departing Soul.
Life is Getting Dimmer.
The Pain of Watching Them Grow Old.
A Shadow Of Their Former Self
Now Wrinkled Aged and Grey.
Fondly Reminiscing Of Them .
Back In Their Younger Days
Body, Figure hugging.
High Cheek Bones Popping
The Fashions and The Lace.
Their Style, Their Swing, Their Grace.
Now Ebbed Away By Time
Remembering Not My Face
My Name is Now Strange To Their
Ears
No Awareness of Time or Space
How I Wish I could visit Their World So We Could Commune Again.
Grieving whilst They Are still alive
Oh The Searing Pain.

What a beautiful and sad poem…
Reminds me of our elders who suffer from dementia. You’ve captured the pain and desolate space we find ourselves in.
